Abstract
A random serum sampling from 314 Adivasis and 100 non-Advdasis, residing in Kotra Tehsil area of Udaipur District was carried out in order to determine the prevalence of syphilis using VDRL test. Among the tribal community 21.74% males and 28.47% females showed a positive VDRL reaction. Of these ser a from 14.13% men and 12.31% women showed a positive reaction in 1:8 dilution or above. In the non-tribal group, overall positivity was 18.0% and significant titres were found in 7.94% males and 5.41% females. The higher prevalence aate in Bhil connnunity may be attributed to their social customs.Fulltext Views
