Sir,
Our Response:
- In our study, we used 20 drops of minoxidil 5% lotion twice daily, nearly equal to 2 mL twice daily, in both control and case groups. The recommended dosage of minoxidil is not the same in various studies worldwide as the literature shows.
- No response.
- We used Photofinder to mark the area topographically, and the photographs were enough to show the site of analysis.
- Our proposal for research was designed based on hair counting, as we thought that it was more reliable than global photo assessment.
- Anyway, the controversies are the bases for more extensive studies, and the demand to do further research is evident from these controversial issues. In our patients, the hair count was improved earlier than other studies. This is not possibly astonishing because of different ethnicity. We reported our results honestly. However, future studies are required to corroborate our results. A reason why we followed the subjects for a shorter duration than in the other studies is because of our concern for patient adherence and tolerance to treatment protocols.
