Abstract
The disease phrynoderma was comprehensively reviewed from all aspects including aetiology, clinical features, histopathological and biochemical changes from available literature. The aetiology of the disease could not be definitely established at the present state of our knowledge. It appears possible that the disease may result from certain dietetic deficiencies in which case, the result of treatment are good, or it may be the result of a genetic predisposition, in which case treatment is often infructuous. It is, however, possible that both dietetic deficiency and a genetic predisposition may play a part in the causation of the disease, in every case, to a lesser or greater extent.Fulltext Views
