Therapeutic Efficacy of Azathioprine in Pityriasis Rubra Pilaris

Abstract

Three cases of pityriasis -rubra pilaris, an uncommon dermatosis are presented. All cases presented in the phase, of exfoliative dermatitis and showed no appreciable improvement with systemic steroids alone or with mothotrexate. The response to, azathioprine was highly, satisfactory in these cases. Improvement was maintained during follow up period when azathioprine was completely withdrawn. No side effect- of the drug was noticed.
