The book “Comprehensive Approach to Infections in Dermatology” is the first of its kind from the Indian subcontinent. It is a compilation of immense knowledge and rich experience from the experts in this field from all over the country. In fact, there has been a palpable need for such a concise, comprehensive and authentic book in this context in Indian flavor.
The book comprises eight sections, i.e. normal flora, bacterial infections, fungal infections, viral infections, mycobacterial infections, parasitic and protozoal diseases, infestations, bites and stings, and sexually transmitted infections with twenty chapters encompassing each variant of infections with simple and lucid descriptions, tables and graphics, key points and latest therapeutic guidelines. A unique feature is the large number of excellent photographs incorporated in each section of this book. Description of diagnostic procedures along with step-by-step approach to bedside diagnostic procedures is going to make this book a quick reference guide. Addition of multiple-choice questions at the end of each section would have added more color to this textbook. All the chapters are well referenced.
The book is excellent and will be useful to all the clinicians and is highly recommended for all the libraries. The editors and authors deserve heartfelt compliments for their efforts.
