Abstract
Augmentin (Amoxycillin 3 . gm combined with 250 mg clavulanic acid) and ampicillin 3.5 gin and I gm probenecid orally were evaluated in 50 patients for treatment of uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Success rates of 80% and 100% were obtained with augmentin and ampicillin with probenecid respectively in non-PPNG strains. None of 4 PPNG strains responded to ampicillin-probnecid. Augmentin in single oral dose cannot be recommended for the treatment of non-PPNG strains in India.Fulltext Views
